AUTOMOTIVE INJURIES

Chiropractic care is an critically important treatment for individuals who have been in an auto accident. Drs. Smith and Bailey help patients from Easton, PA and surrounding areas address the various issues that may occur from an auto accident injury. Even a minor collision can have a major impact on functional well-being. Some of the common complaints we hear from patients after an automobile accident include back pain, neck pain, fatigue, tingling in the arms or legs, and headaches. These symptoms often appear very quickly after an accident, but sometimes may gradually appear over weeks or months.

According to the Journal of Orthopedic Medicine, chiropractic care, with its focus on spinal joint mobility and soft tissue manipulation in the neck and back, is an excellent treatment for auto injuries. We often include physiotherapies such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, massage therapy and rehabilitative exercises as part of your care plan. If you or someone you love has been in an automobile accident, an evaluation and consultation at Chiropractic Whole Health can be the most important step toward healing.

We have treated hundreds of car accident victims over the past 16 years. CAD - Cervical acceleration/deceleration

Automobile accidents, in particular, tend to place a specific type of stress on the body. Within a day or two after a collision, neck and head pain may develop. Headaches and neck pain are an indication of a CAD injury, otherwise known as whiplash. This injury, as it sounds, is the result of the head and neck being forced forward, sideways, or backward and then quickly whipping the other direction. Even when the force is minor, this movement may cause injury to the muscles and soft tissue around the cervical spine. The contraction of muscles in this area can lead to localized pain as well as radiating pain and headaches.

CAD is one of the predominant automobile injuries. Many people who experience whiplash will also develop pain in the upper back, and possibly in the lower back. Chiropractic care in our Easton, PA office will assess injuries to determine:

  • Where the injury or injuries exist

  • The severity of injury

  • The optimal course of treatment and modalities that will alleviate pain and limited mobility

  • The necessity for diagnostic tests like CT scan or MRI

  • The need for referral to a specialist such as an orthopedic physician

  • The need for time off from work and other activities

An auto accident is undoubtedly stressful and the aftereffects may seem time consuming. Your health and wellness are a priority. At Chiropractic Whole Health, we make a concentrated effort to encourage rapid healing from auto injuries.
